För tredje året i rad ansvarar Red Bull Music Academy för en del av programmet på branschfestivalen by:Larm i Oslo. Under tre dagar tar de över Kulturhuset, där bland annat Velvet Underground-ikonen John Cale kommer närvara. Så här skriver festivalen på sin hemsida:
”As a founding member of The Velvet Underground together with the late Lou Reed, much of Cale’s career is the stuff of legends. The camaraderie between Cale and Reed was a cornerstone of The Velvet Underground, and together they shaped rock history in a way that few others have managed. Later, Cale became a writer and producer in his own right, making solo albums and producing records for other artists. The collaboration with Lou Reed re-surfaced in 1989 with the surprise hit album ’Songs for Drella’.
Cale’s place in popular music is undisputed, and we very much look forward to his visit to by:Larm, where he will be participating in a Q&A-session.”
En annan höjdpunkt i Kulturhusets program är den tidigare LCD Soundsystem-frontmannen James Murphy — som även driver skivbolaget DFA Records — som den 27 februari kommer hålla en föreläsning följt av ett DJ-set.
