Toronto Film Festival startar 8 september. Öppningsfilmen blir “From the Sky Down,” som är en dokumentär om det irländska bandet U2.
The new film from Mr. Guggenheim, the director of “An Inconvenient Truth” and “Waiting for Superman,” will chronicle the creation and legacy of “Achtung Baby,” the 1991 U2 album that included hits like “One” and “Mysterious Ways,” using archival footage and new interviews. It will make its debut at a gala presentation on Sept. 8.
Andra filmer som kommer att visas på Torontos filmfestival är David Cronenbergs drama om Sigmund Freud,Carl Jung och Sabina Spielrein: “A Dangerous Method,” och en politisk thriller i regi av George Clooney: “The Ides of March” och Luc Bessons “The Lady,” med Michelle Yeoh i rollen som Burma frihetskämpe och oppositonspolitiker Aung San Suu Kyi. Också filmen “W.E.,” som regisseras av Madonna och som handlar om en kvinna (spelad av Abbie Cornish) som blir fixerad vid kärlekshistorien mellan Wallis Simpson och Kung Edward VIII.
