PJ Harvey spelar in sitt nionde studioalbum som en utställning på Somerset House i London. Från och med den 16 januari kan du se och höra PJ Harvey, hennes gästmusiker, ljudtekniker, producenterna Flood och John Parish i en särskilt utformad, inglasad studio. I fyrtiofem minuter åt gången kommer grupper få bevittna hur albumet blir till; det kan röra sig om alltifrån inspelning av bastrummor, diskussioner, improvisationer till framförandet av helt nya låtar (biljetter hittar du här).
”Harvey has chosen to record her ninth album inside an architectural installation designed by Somerset House-based Something & Son. The structure, a recording studio in the form of an enclosed box, has one-way glazing, displaying PJ Harvey, her band, producers and engineers as a mutating, multi-dimensional sound sculpture.
One-way glass and sound proofing ensure that the musicians can concentrate on their work, but the space and the people who move through it will help to create both the process and presentation of this project.”
PJ Harveys senaste album, Let England Shake, släpptes 2011. I år kommer hon även ge ut en diktsamling, The Hollow of the Hand, tillsammans med fotografen och filmskaparen Seamus Murphy.
