The New Pornographers släpper nytt album 27 augusti. Efter fyra år släpps snart ”Brill Bruisers” som blir bandets sjätte studioalbum. Med ett flertal kritikerrosade album har pressen höjt bandet till skyarna med tidigare album:
Virtually peerless in the world of power-pop and indie-rock – NPR Music
In recent history, no group has featured so much formidable established talent, collaborating on a regular basis. – Stereogum
Frontman och låtskrivare AC Newman kommenterar det kommande släppet i ett pressmeddelande:
This is a celebration record. After periods of difficulty, I am at a place where nothing in my life is dragging me down and the music reflects that. I’m grateful.
Albumet producerades av bandmedlemmarna Josh Collin och Newman själva och spelades in på ett flertal olika studios i Nordamerika dock som mest på Little Blue i Woodstock och JC/DC Studios i Vancouver. Sedan deras debut -99 har The New Pornographers släppt fem studioalbum, däribland det senaste ”Together” som kritikerna tog emot med öppna armar.
