Den svenska soul- och R&B-artisten Janice har släppt en ny singel: Let it Rain.
Ett pressmeddelande berättar om Janice och singeln:
Born in Stockholm, Janice was surrounded by music, putting on shows in her living room every night and singing in the Tensta Gospel Choir (previous members include Seinabo Sey and Lykke Li). It was this community and safe haven that allowed Janice to connect deeply with her own feelings and begin a professional career in singing.
Her debut single ‘Don’t Need To’ found fans in Zara Larsson and Charli XCX and established her as one of the most exciting exports from Sweden. It was followed by ‘Answer’, dedicated to Janice’s father after he tragically took his own life, which led her to become an ambassador for Swedish charity Suicide Zero.
The debut album ‘Fallin’ Up’ received high praise in Sweden, with Janice being nominated for a Grammis (Swedish Grammys) in the Breakthrough Artist Category in 2018, as well as performing live at the televised event. Her most recent release ‘Hearts Will Bleed’ also featured in FIFA 2020.
New single ‘Let It Rain’ is a timeless soul and R&B blend, built around acoustic guitar and her love of gospel. “It’s about meeting someone who makes you realise you’re on the wrong course,” she explains, “following that revelation, even though you might have to hurt people on the way.”
