Deerhunter ger ut sitt nya album Monomania via 4AD den 7 maj. Albumet, som blir bandets femte och följer upp Halcyon Digest från 2010, spelades in i Brooklyn tillsammans med producenten Nicolas Vernhes.
Titeln Monomania betyder ”överdriven koncentration på ett objekt eller en idé” och så här sade Bradford Cos, som så sent som 2011 släppte albumet Parallax med sitt soloprojekt Atlas Sound, i en intervju med Rolling Stone från samma år:
”I guess my time as a musician has gone by so fast that I realized that I have no personal life. The other guys in Deerhunter, they all found things. And I just have monomania. I always will. I’m obsessive about one thing, that there’s one thing that’s going to make me happy and it’s making music, or there’s one thing that’s going to make me happy and it’s this person.”
