U2 bidrar med låten Ordinary Love till den kommande Nelson Mandela-filmen Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Låten skrevs specifikt för filmen och är det första nyskrivna materialet bandet delar med sig av på tre år. Du kan förhandslyssna på låten i trailern nedan.
Sedan tidigare har bandets basist Adam Clayton berättat för irländsk radio att U2 är en månad från att färdigställa sitt nya album.
– We’re trying to get these 12 songs absolutely right and get them finished by the end of November, and then we can kind of enjoy Christmas.
Albumet, som blir deras trettonde, följer upp 2009 års No Line on the Horizon och Clayton beskriver det som ”a bit of a return to U2 of old, but with the maturity, if you like, of the U2 of the last 10 years. It’s a combination of those two things and it’s a really interesting hybrid”. De har tagit hjälp av Danger Mouse, eller Brian Burton som han egentligen heter.
