Insomnade Chicago-bandet Smith Westerns tidigare frontman Cullen Omori har annonserat sin solodebut. New Misery<\/em> sl\u00e4pps via Sub Pop den 18 mars. Albumet producerades av Shane Stoneback som tidigare jobbat med bland annat Sleigh Bells, Vampire Weekend och Fucked Up. Omori ber\u00e4ttar i ett pressmeddelande att han b\u00f6rjade skriva l\u00e5tar i b\u00f6rjan av f\u00f6rra \u00e5ret medan han lyssnade p\u00e5 topplistemusik n\u00e4r han jobbade p\u00e5 sjukhus:<\/p>\n

There is so much dirt in hospitals and fuzz and lint and dried blood on these [stretchers and wheelchairs]. We\u2019d clean them down, which in a way is kind of therapeutic, and listen to the radio. Then we’d go back to [band member] Adam [Gil]’s house and record demos for what was to become the skeleton of New Misery. I can\u2019t sit down and say I’m going to write a Sam Smith or an Adele song or whatever. The closest I can get to that is making like this weird hybrid of what I think is a pop song.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
