Jag trodde inte att n\u00e5gon skulle kunna toppa Damon Albarns spelning i Arena-t\u00e4ltet, men Future Islands &#8212; med den inlevelsefulla s\u00e5ngaren Samuel T. Herring i spetsen &#8212; var n\u00e4ra nog. Redan i \u00f6ppningen med <em>Back in the Tall Grass<\/em> r\u00f6r han sig som en kobra, och det r\u00e5der inga tvivel kring vem som \u00e4ger scenen. Han studsar runt, growlar, bankar sig sj\u00e4lv mot br\u00f6sten och gesikulerar s\u00e5 vilt att han ser ut att vara p\u00e5 bristingsgr\u00e4nsen. Som en ringledare f\u00e5r han \u00e4ven\u00a0publiken att vakna till liv, trots att klockan redan passerat midnatt.<\/p>\n<p>Efter ytterligare tv\u00e5 l\u00e5tar fr\u00e5n senaste albumet <em>Singles<\/em> &#8212; <em>Sun in the Morning<\/em> och<em> A Dream of You and Me<\/em> &#8212; gr\u00e4ver de djupare i sin katalog och plockar fram<em> Inch of Dust<\/em> fr\u00e5n 2010 \u00e5rs <em>In Evening Air<\/em>. Om n\u00e5got s\u00e5 visar det hur hajp-maskinen fungerar. &#8221;This might be the biggest crowd we&#8217;ve ever played for,&#8221; s\u00e4ger Herring fr\u00e5n scen. Baltimore-trion har egentligen gjort lika stark och 80-talsdoftande synthpop under en tid, men det kr\u00e4vdes ett visst upptr\u00e4dande hos David Letterman f\u00f6r att f\u00e5 den publik de f\u00f6rtj\u00e4nar. Jag tycker det g\u00e5r att dra paralleller till The War on Drugs som i och med sitt senaste giv n\u00e5tt ut p\u00e5 ett bredare plan, trots att de gjort mer eller mindre likadan musik i flera \u00e5rs tid.<\/p>\n<p><em>Singles<\/em> \u00e4r f\u00f6r \u00f6vrigt en passande albumtitel, d\u00e5 varenda l\u00e5t k\u00e4nns som en singel. I och med albumet har Future Islands klivit in p\u00e5 de stora scenerna, och spelningen p\u00e5 Roskilde visar att det var p\u00e5 tiden.
