Med Lilly Allensk ber\u00e4ttarteknik sjunger den \u00e4nnu ton\u00e5riga nykomlingen rader som &#8221;the trouble with no strings is you can only fall&#8221; \u00f6ver en Foster the People-osande basg\u00e5ng.\u00a0Sedan dess har hon f\u00f6rvisso gett ifr\u00e5n sig ytterligare ett par l\u00e5tar av varierad karakt\u00e4r, s\u00e5som <em>Rumour<\/em> vilken hon \u00f6ppnar spelningen p\u00e5 Popaganda med, men hon k\u00e4nns kanske fortfarande som uppstickare snarare \u00e4n etablerad popstj\u00e4rna.<\/p>\n<p>Problemet med nykomlingar, vars l\u00e5tar relativt nyligen b\u00f6rjat cirkulera p\u00e5 n\u00e4tet, brukar ju vara att de \u00e4nnu inte riktigt blommat ut &#8211; men i fallet Chl\u00f6e Howl framg\u00e5r det r\u00e4tt snabbt att hon besitter n\u00e5gonting extra, och tillsammans med sina tre medmusiker lyckas hon redan nu fylla ut Popaganda-scenen trots att det \u00e4r en av hennes f\u00f6rsta festivalspelningar utanf\u00f6r de brittiska \u00f6arna.<\/p>\n<p>Hon framf\u00f6r inte bara upptempo popl\u00e5tar,\u00a0<em>I Wish I Could Tell You<\/em>\u00a0\u00e4r ett exempel p\u00e5 hennes mer l\u00e5ngsamma nummer, och hon hinner dessutom framf\u00f6ra ett flertal \u00e4nnu osl\u00e4ppta l\u00e5tar som <em>Drop in the Ocean, Paper Heart<\/em>\u00a0och avslutande <em>This Song&#8217;s Not About You<\/em> som f\u00e5r en slags 80-talsinramning. Ja, hennes l\u00e5tar \u00e4r nog lika m\u00e5ngfacetterade\u00a0som hennes epitet som uppstickande popstj\u00e4rna \u00e4r obestridligt.
