En spelning som delvis pr\u00e4glades av att hon \u00e4nnu inte hade sl\u00e4ppt sitt tredje album <em>The Haunted Man<\/em>. Bara att h\u00f6ra en l\u00e5t som <em>Laura<\/em> utan n\u00e5gra som helst f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntningar\u00a0k\u00e4ndes d\u00e5 kittlande, men n\u00e4r hon nu if\u00f6rd n\u00e5gon slags stj\u00e4rnsprakande gr\u00f6nbl\u00e5 dr\u00e4kt intar Way Out Wests n\u00e4st st\u00f6rsta scen tar hon tillvara p\u00e5 chansen att bygga upp en mer utpr\u00e4glad dramaturgi d\u00e4r nya l\u00e5tar som <em>Marilyn, Laura<\/em> och framf\u00f6rallt titelsp\u00e5ret <em>The Haunted Man<\/em> fyller nyckelfunktioner.<\/p>\n<p>Redan i inledande <em>Lilies<\/em> st\u00e5r det klart att Natashas dramatiska r\u00f6st idag \u00e4r i sitt esse; den griper tag i en fr\u00e5n f\u00f6rsta ton. Efter att d\u00e4refter ha framf\u00f6rt de \u00e4ldre p\u00e4rlorna <em>What&#8217;s a Girl to Do<\/em> fr\u00e5n debuten samt <em>Glass<\/em> och <em>Travelling Woman<\/em> fr\u00e5n 2009 \u00e5rs <em>Two Suns<\/em>\u00a0spelas <em>Marilyn<\/em> och <em>All Your Gold<\/em> &#8211; tv\u00e5 vitt skilda l\u00e5tar fr\u00e5n hennes senaste opus; om <em>Marilyn<\/em>\u00a0\u00e4r dr\u00f6msk och storslagen med refr\u00e4ngen &#8221;holding you, I&#8217;m touching a star&#8221; fungerar misst\u00e4nkt Gotye-osande singeln\u00a0<em>All Your Gold<\/em> snarare som en dansant avstickare innan gotiska <em>Horse &amp; I<\/em>. Ensam med pianisten framf\u00f6r hon sedan\u00a0<em>Laura<\/em>\u00a0i avskalat format och efter <em>Sleep Alone<\/em>\u00a0s\u00e4tter hon sig under <em>Siren Song<\/em> sj\u00e4lv bakom pianot. Innan hon tar farv\u00e4l med sj\u00e4lvklara\u00a0<em>Daniel<\/em> framf\u00f6rs allts\u00e5\u00a0<em>The Haunted Man<\/em> som sticker ut med sina manliga k\u00f6rer som tr\u00e4der in mitt i l\u00e5ten medan\u00a0Natasha b\u00e4r en antik gammal radio \u00f6ver axeln. Vissuellt? Ja, men \u00e4ven en l\u00e5t som v\u00e4xer live och tillsammans med <em>Marilyn<\/em> tillh\u00f6r spelningens h\u00f6jdpunkter.<\/p>\n<p>Det bjuds allts\u00e5 p\u00e5 en hel del variation, b\u00e5de dansanta och lugna, pianobaserade och synthiga l\u00e5tar framf\u00f6rs, men tyv\u00e4rr \u00e4r det glest med folk framf\u00f6r scen &#8211; antagligen beroende p\u00e5 att Grimes, som drar en r\u00e4tt snarlik publik, spelar parallellt p\u00e5 Linn\u00e9-scenen en bit bort &#8211; och dessutom har basen vid ett par tillf\u00e4llet en f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att bli alldeles f\u00f6r p\u00e5tr\u00e4ngande. D\u00e4remot f\u00f6rv\u00e5nas jag \u00e4nnu en g\u00e5ng \u00f6ver hur v\u00e4l Bat for Lashes m\u00f6rka l\u00e5tar och suggestiva mystik fungerar i solskenet. Khan st\u00e5r definitivt f\u00f6r en av festivalens s\u00e4kraste och mest eleganta och polerade upptr\u00e4danden.
