Hela debutskivan <em>My Head is an Animal<\/em> kretsar annars just kring mysiga alls\u00e5nger att sjunga tillsammans framf\u00f6r l\u00e4gerelden.<\/p>\n<p>K\u00f6n f\u00f6r att ens komma in till spelningen kommer med all sannolikhet att bli en snackis och g\u00e5 till historien som en av h\u00f6stens l\u00e4ngsta &#8211; men f\u00f6r de som trotsade h\u00f6stregnet v\u00e4ntade en fin bel\u00f6ning.\u00a0Of Monsters and Men p\u00e5 Debaser Slussen \u00e4r en gradvis v\u00e4xande k\u00e4rlekshistoria. L\u00e5t efter l\u00e5t v\u00e4xer sig ljudbilden b\u00e5de st\u00f6rre och varmare \u00e4n p\u00e5 skiva. Redan i l\u00e5gm\u00e4lda\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Xpd71eFOSnA\"><em>Slow and Steady<\/em><\/a>\u00a0som spelas som tredje l\u00e5t lyfter i stort sett var och en i publiken upp h\u00e4nderna och klappar med i takt till det skimrande instrumentala breaket medan efterf\u00f6ljande <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0gEVaniPOmU\">Mountain Sound<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>\u00e4r en mer\u00a0uptempo historia &#8211; och innan l\u00e5ten kommer ig\u00e5ng har bandets s\u00e5ngerska Nanna Brynd\u00eds Hilmarsd\u00f3ttir l\u00e4rt ut texten till refr\u00e4ngen vilket drar ig\u00e5ng alls\u00e5ngen ytterligare. Of Monsters and Men f\u00e5r till och med en otippad cover p\u00e5 Yeah Yeah Yeahs <em>Skeletons<\/em> att l\u00e5ta som sin egen.<\/p>\n<p>Texterna handlar ofta om ensamhet, tomma hus &#8211; och sagolika djur fr\u00e5n den isl\u00e4ndska myllan. Till och med bandets mest personligt f\u00f6rankrade l\u00e5t <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3IhI87arSAE\"><em>Love Love Love<\/em><\/a>\u00a0har n\u00e5gonting fantastiskt \u00f6ver sig och inte ens min tvivlande kompis som tidigare under kv\u00e4llen tyckt att det \u00e4r f\u00f6r mycket d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu \u00f6ver l\u00e5tarna kan h\u00e5lla undan k\u00e4nslorna n\u00e4r suggestiva <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cT2ZWb50urc\"><em>Lakehouse<\/em><\/a>\u00a0f\u00f6ljs av deras utm\u00e4rkta dragspelsdrivna radiohit\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I\">Little Talks<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>d\u00e4r hey hey-utropen f\u00f6r tankarna till Arcade Fires indie-anthem <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=83KR_UBWdPI\">No Cars Go<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trots att Of Monsters and Men knappt existerat i tv\u00e5 \u00e5r \u00e4r de p\u00e5 god v\u00e4g att g\u00f6ra Bj\u00f6rk och Sigur R\u00f3s s\u00e4llskap som Islands fr\u00e4msta musikexporter. Anledningen \u00e4r simpel: stormannabandets Mumford and Sons-folkiga indie f\u00f6ljer det enkla framg\u00e5ngsreceptet &#8221;ju fler desto b\u00e4ttre&#8221;. Det \u00e4r inbjudande och alla \u00e4r med.
