Eller s\u00e5 var det den svenska sommarnatten. Men det var en ovanligt munter och pratglad Robert Smith som intog den gr\u00f6na scenen under fredagen f\u00f6r att m\u00f6ta festivalens hittills st\u00f6rsta publik. Det handlade om en tv\u00e5-och-en-halv timmes l\u00e5ng m\u00e4ssa som inte tog slut f\u00f6rr\u00e4n solen hade g\u00e5tt upp och polisen hotade med att dra ur pluggen. Oavsett om det r\u00f6rde sig om alls\u00e5ngen i l\u00e5tar som <em>Boys Don&#8217;t Cry<\/em> eller domedagsprofetian i <em>One Hundred Years<\/em> var det ett betydligt piggare The Cure \u00e4n vad jag ens hade v\u00e5gat hoppas p\u00e5.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med den n\u00e5got tr\u00f6tta spelningen p\u00e5 den spanska stadsfestivalen Primavera Sound tv\u00e5 veckor tidigare bj\u00f6ds det p\u00e5 en tyngre och mer gitarrorienterad l\u00e5tlista vilket inte minst <em>Wish<\/em>-inledningen med <em>Open<\/em> och <em>High<\/em> tydde p\u00e5. Det plockades \u00e4ven friskt fr\u00e5n <em>The Top<\/em> &#8211; den spretiga LSD-skivan som visar bandets mest psykedeliska sida. <em>Bananafishbones<\/em>, <em>The Caterpillar<\/em> och <em>Dressing Up<\/em>. Framf\u00f6r allt spelas titelsp\u00e5ret <em>The Top<\/em> f\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen sedan skivan sl\u00e4pptes 1984.<\/p>\n<p>Det fanns egentligen bara ett f\u00e5tal saker att anm\u00e4rka p\u00e5. Ena h\u00f6gtalaren slutade till exempel att fungera mitt under <em>From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea<\/em> och efter att bandet fortsatt spela resten av l\u00e5ten utan ljud gav de sig p\u00e5 ett hastigt litet soundcheck i form av en n\u00e5got udda version av <em>Three Imaginary Boys<\/em>. Och i vissa l\u00e5tar, s\u00e5som <em>The Hungry Ghost<\/em>, k\u00e4ndes det som att den nya Cure-medlemmen, och f\u00f6re detta Bowie-gitarristen, Reeves Gabrels var lite f\u00f6r f\u00f6rtjust i wah-wah-pedalen.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Smith och hans mannar kliver av scenen ungef\u00e4r halv fyra p\u00e5 morgonen, efter att polisen hotat med att dra ur pluggen. D\u00e5 har de hunnit med ett maraton-gig best\u00e5ende av en s\u00e5d\u00e4r trettio l\u00e5tar och alla \u00e4r nog r\u00e4tt n\u00f6jda. Robert Smith \u00e4r till och med s\u00e5 n\u00f6jd att han avslutar med att s\u00e4ga &#8221;this was one of the most enjoyable concerts ever&#8221;.
