Death Gate EP inneh\u00e5ller fem sp\u00e5r om sammanlagt sexton minuter, m\u00e4ttade med ljudeffekter, samplingar, rytmer och syntjlud. Eller som det st\u00e5r i pressmeddelandet: off-kliter sequence of percussion with the analog wail of synthetic horn stabs\u2026 P\u00e5 n\u00e5gra av l\u00e5tarna finns \u00e4ven s\u00e5ng.<\/p>\n<p>Death Gate handlar enligt The Gaslamp Killer om \u201datt utforska landskapen mellan liv och d\u00f6d, och de skakande inre resor som v\u00e4ntar oss d\u00e4r\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>G\u00e5r man ut med en s\u00e5 ambiti\u00f6s programf\u00f6rklaring g\u00e4ller det givetvis att leverera. Dessv\u00e4rre \u00e4r det bara att konstatera att The Gaslamp Killer tagit sig vatten \u00f6ver huvudet. Det h\u00e4r \u00e4r inte en skildring av skakande resor mellan liv och d\u00f6d. Det \u00e4r Musse Pigg som f\u00f6rs\u00f6kt g\u00f6ra musik till en skr\u00e4ckfilm med Kalle Anka i huvudrollen. Jultomten skr\u00e4mmer mer \u00e4n det h\u00e4r.<\/p>\n<p>Samtidigt som jag lyssnar p\u00e5 denna EP n\u00e5s jag av nyheten att Throbbing Gristle har splittrats. Genesis P. Orridge har mitt under p\u00e5g\u00e5ende turn\u00e9 l\u00e4mnat bandet och \u00e5kt hem till New York. Throbbing Gristle \u00e4r ett band som har presterat n\u00e5got av den mest skr\u00e4ckinjagande musik som skapats p\u00e5 v\u00e5r hemplanet.
