Ett pressmeddelande ber\u00e4ttar:
\nPeter Bjorn and John sl\u00e4pper idag de f\u00f6rsta tre singlarna fr\u00e5n deras kommande studioalbum Darker Days som sl\u00e4pps den 19 oktober. Det nya albumet \u00e4r en historia om tre, d\u00e4r varje bandmedlem skildrat l\u00e5tarna p\u00e5 eget vis utifr\u00e5n albumets tema, i b\u00e5de skriv- och produktionsprocessen.<\/p>\n

Singlarna speglar varje medlems personliga stil. Peter gick in i ”One For The Team” med sin k\u00e4rlek till old school soulmusik och tjejgruppers vokalstil, som refererar till korniga och varma ljud fr\u00e5n Motown, Al Green och \u00e4ven Jackson 5. Bj\u00f6rns ”Gut Feeling” \u00e4r riffdriven trumorienterad popmusik som de enligt honom inte gjort sedan PBJ-favoriter som \u201dSecond Chance\u201d och \u201dYoung Folks\u201d. Och John har p\u00e5 sin \u201dEvery Other Night\u201d tagit influenser fr\u00e5n sina \u2019indiepop\/rock-heroes\u2019.<\/p>\n

”One For The Team” | Peter <\/strong>
\nIt’s a pep-talk sort of song. A positive call to arms really. It\u2019s been a \u201cbumpy ride\u201d as the song says. But the good thing you\u2019ve found together is really worth fighting for, especially after all this time. We really ARE stronger together. We all GAIN from helping each other out. We CAN\u2019T make it ourselves. At least not as good or as vigorous. All very corny but also all very true, most of the time. And the title is kind of corny too but I love calling a song \u201cOne For The Team.\u201d<\/p>\n

”Gut Feeling” | Bj\u00f6rn <\/strong>
\nThe story of \u201cGut Feeling\u201d begins at the first gig in the US after our last album, Breakin\u2019 Point. Backstage in the club in Nashville I was waiting for soundcheck and started writing what was to become \u201cGut Feeling,\u201d the words came subconsciously: \u201cI think we need to talk about it, if we don\u2019t wanna live without it.
\nWe actually did talk on that tour, and conflicts were resolved. It all became fun again.\u201d<\/p>\n

”Every Other Night” | John<\/strong>
\nThis song is about what\u2019s keeping you awake between the midnight hour and the hour of the wolf. It\u2019s like a warning sign in neon letters.Sonically it\u2019s a homage to my indie-pop\/rock-heroes and the opposite of the snappy arrangements on our previous album (Breakin\u2019 Point). What you hear is just the three of us, Peter on guitar, Bjorn on bass and me on drums and vocals.<\/p>\n

Redan direkt efter att Peter Bjorn and John sl\u00e4ppte sitt f\u00f6rra album Breakin\u2019 Point \u00e5r 2016 kom de \u00f6verens om en titel till n\u00e4sta album. De landade i Darker Daysoch gick d\u00e4refter skilda v\u00e4gar f\u00f6r att p\u00e5 varsitt h\u00e5ll komponera l\u00e5tar utifr\u00e5n egna tolkningar av titeln. Sedan m\u00f6ttes de i studion f\u00f6r att presentera sina alster och tillsammans f\u00e4rdigst\u00e4lla l\u00e5tarna bara dem tre. 11-sp\u00e5riga Darker Days visar upp varje bandmedlems unika stil men samtidigt ett band med obestridlig kemi som har spelat tillsammans i snart 20 \u00e5r. Varje medlems m\u00f6rker \u00e4r s\u00e4rskiljande i l\u00e5tarna; Peter tar itu med vad som h\u00e4nder i v\u00e4rlden just nu, Bj\u00f6rn ber\u00f6r relationsf\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden och John (den mest existentiella) utforskar skuggan av v\u00e5rt eget psyke.<\/p>\n
