Metallica och Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) och Dr Ahmad Sarmast tilldelas Polar Music Prize 2018, ber\u00e4ttar ett pressmeddelande:
\nPolar Music Prize 2018 tilldelas den amerikanska gruppen Metallica<\/strong>. Inte sedan Wagners k\u00e4nslostormar och Tjajkovskijs kanoner har n\u00e5gon skapat musik som varit s\u00e5 fysisk och ursinnig, men \u00e4nd\u00e5 samtidigt tillg\u00e4nglig. Genom virtuost ensemblespel och en m\u00e5ngdubbling av tempot har Metallica tagit rockmusiken till platser d\u00e4r den aldrig varit f\u00f6rut. I Metallicas v\u00e4rld f\u00f6rvandlas ton\u00e5rsrummet och konsertlokalen till ett Valhalla. Kraften i gruppens kompromissl\u00f6sa album har gett st\u00f6d \u00e5t miljoner att v\u00e4nda sitt utanf\u00f6rskap till en superkraft.<\/p>\n

\"\"Polar Music Prize 2018 tilldelas Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) och Dr Ahmad Sarmast<\/strong>, dess vision\u00e4ra grundare och ledare, som ett erk\u00e4nnande f\u00f6r hur denna inspirerande organisation har anv\u00e4nt musikens kraft till att f\u00f6r\u00e4ndra unga m\u00e4nniskors liv. P\u00e5 1990-talet avbr\u00f6ts Afghanistans rika musikaliska arv, som blomstrade i \u00e5rhundraden, pl\u00f6tsligt av inb\u00f6rdeskriget och fr\u00e5n 1996 till 2001 var musik f\u00f6rbjuden och tystad i hela landet. 2008 \u00e5terv\u00e4nde Dr. Sarmast, son till en ber\u00f6md dirigent, till Kabul med livet som insats, f\u00f6r att etablera ANIM. Ett decennium senare blomstrar ANIM och \u00e4r engagerat i att bevara Afghanistans rika musikaliska arv samt att erbjuda en s\u00e4ker utbildningsmilj\u00f6 \u00e5t hundratals pojkar och flickor.<\/p>\n

\nH.M. Konungen delar ut priset, som uppg\u00e5r till en miljon svenska kronor till respektive pristagare, torsdagen den 14 juni 2018. I \u00e5r genomf\u00f6rs b\u00e5de ceremoni och bankett p\u00e5 Grand H\u00f4tel i Stockholm och direkts\u00e4nds i TV4 kl. 20:00. Polar Music Prize 2018 \u00e4r den tjugosjunde i ordningen.<\/p>\n
